While working as Home Health Nurses for Whidbey General Hospital, we were continually frustrated with the lack of a private-duty agency serving Whidbey Island. Patients and their families desperately needed help at home, but there was no way to help them find caregivers. There was also no way to determine a caregiver's character, skills, and reliability. We founded Island Home Nursing in 1985 to meet that need. We have helped many people and each of them has enriched us and increased our understanding of homecare needs and the human spirit.
Island Home Nursing has a simple mission: To provide quality caregiving at an affordable price. Fulfilling that mission takes a team of skilled professionals. Meet four members of our office team:

- BS in Nursing from the University of Texas in 1976
- Langley resident since 1981. Moved here to care for grandmother
- Has worked in hospitals, including CCU,
and as a Home Health Nurse
- Founded Island Home Nursing in 1985

- BS in Psychology from the University of California in 1971
- Nursing degree in 1982
- Moved to Whidbey Island in 1980
- Worked with developmentally disabled children and adults, in oncology, and as a Home Health Nurse.
